What to Expect From Your First Podiatry Appointment

For many people, going to any doctor is no easy feat, especially if you haven’t had a pleasant experience before. At Total Foot Care & Wellness Clinic, we strive to make every appointment a great one. If this is your first time going to a Podiatrist, keep reading to know what to expect.

Paperwork & Forms

Like all doctor offices, you’ll be required to fill out any necessary forms that pertain to your visit. This can be anything from insurance information to medical history. Your Podiatrist office may call you prior to your appointment to inform you on what documents they need from you. Many offices have forms available online as well to help make the check-in process streamlined.

X-Rays & Examination

Depending on your Podiatrist, you may go through a full workup at your appointment to help get to the root of the problem. If you’re there for an injury, you might also require some x-rays to get a better look at your feet or ankles. Keep in mind, your Podiatrist will not perform any procedures or examinations without your consent! The entire appointment will be to help assess any pain, discomfort, or problems you are experiencing.

Future Appointments

Your Podiatrist might recommend that you come back to their office for future appointments depending on your condition and if you need any follow up treatments. Showing up to your appointments is going to be vital to healing any issues that you may be experiencing.

Overall, going to the Podiatrist is no different than going to your other doctors. The goal of these appointments is to help you stay healthy and bring you relief to any existing conditions. If you have a scheduled appointment with us and have questions, please feel free to reach out to us!
