Dr. Michael Monter, DPM, A.A.C.F.A.S.

Dr. Monter attended Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ before going on to receive his doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Following graduation, he continued his training and completed a three-year foot/ankle medicine and surgery residency at Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York City and William B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton, New Jersey.

During his residency, he gained valuable experience treating high-risk patients alongside specialists in the areas of general medicine, emergency medicine, anesthesia, infectious disease, podiatric surgery, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, vascular surgery, pathology, and psychiatry. During that time, Dr. Monter rotated through Metropolitan Hospital Center in Manhattan, Lincoln hospital in the Bronx, Harlem hospital in Harlem, Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, and Kessler Memorial hospital in Hammonton where he managed the care of complicated conditions in a variety of healthcare settings including the hospital, out-patient clinics, surgery centers, emergency room and the operating room.

Dr. Monter is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and specializes in the medical and surgical management of foot and ankle diseases and disorders. He has a particular interest in wounds and limb salvage of the lower extremity and has extensive experience treating patients in the wound care center.  He is highly trained in the most innovative and advanced technologies and procedures available and has been affiliated with his residency program where he assisted in the medical education of resident physicians in training.  He stays current with the most recent treatment modalities by regularly reviewing medical journals and attending continuing education seminars throughout the country.

Dr. Monter likes to say that he is surgically-trained but conservatively-minded, believing that most foot and ankle conditions can be successfully addressed by initially utilizing conservative, non-surgical treatment options followed by surgical intervention when necessary. He takes pride in providing the highest quality of care by carefully listening to a patient’s concerns in order to achieve the most desirable results as quickly as possible.

Dr. Monter recently fulfilled his life-long dream of relocating from the northeast to sunny Florida.  In his spare time, Dr. Monter enjoys working on and racing his radio controlled models, restoring his classic muscle car, playing basketball, going boating/jetskiing, and spending time with his daughter Madison.
