Dr. Aaron Unterman, DPM

Dr. Unterman spent his early years in Maryland. He completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Maryland-College Park. He spent the next several years doing research at the NIH, working with special needs children, and developing programs for seniors.

In 2013 Dr. Unterman decided on a new direction. Leaving the East Coast for Ohio, he enrolled in the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. Throughout his studies at Kent State, he maintained a position on the Dean’s List and became a member of the Pi Delta National Podiatric Honor Society.

After earning his degree in 2017, Dr. Unterman headed to Rochester General Hospital in New York for a three year podiatric medicine and surgery residency program.

During his tenure in Rochester, Dr. Unterman conducted research, helped run a resident-operated clinic, and spent his third year as chief resident. By graduation, he had performed approximately 900 foot and ankle procedures with an emphasis on the forefoot and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgeries.

Dr. Unterman is in the process of completing his American Board of Ankle and Foot Surgery board certifications. He is a current member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, and the New York State Podiatric Medical Association.

Now living in Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Unterman spends his free time outdoors. He enjoys white water rafting, golf, and spending as much time on the beach as he can fit into his busy schedule.

Still very much an academic, Dr. Unterman spends time reading about astronomy and astrophysics. He’s also a music lover and enjoys attending concerts and playing his guitar.

Dr. Unterman looks forward to bringing his training and experiences to his practice at TFC. Putting people first is in his nature and you can be confident that he will go the extra mile for every patient.
